Prophecies for Searching Souls

compiled by Jim Condit Jr.

(With the exception of the last quote from the late Fr. Urban Snyder, which I found at the front of Hutton Gibson’s 1979 book: “Paul VI Legacy: Catholicism?”, almost everything in this article is from either Yves Dupont’s 1971 book, “Catholic Prophecy”, or was pointed out to me by Mr. Gary Giuffre of Texas. Some of the following is merely a cut and paste from writings Gary Giuffre has provided me. The purpose here is to make this material known to those who are seeking the truth about our current age, and the “frightful crises”, to the use the words of Our Lady of LaSalette, in the Catholic Church.)

Finally, I have taken a few hours to compile important quotes and prophecies, originally to send to my brothers and sisters. For instance, there is a quote from Bishop Sheen at the end that I think everyone will find interesting. EVEN IF YOU THINK THAT THESE THINGS ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE, rather than in the past (as I believe is the case), these quotes from Catholic scholars and saintly visionaries are well worth considering and studying.
It Can’t Happen Here?

The reason I took the time to list all of these now — is that almost all attempted defenses against the abominations of the New Mass (such as “for all men” mistranslation in the English version) are met with “obedience to the Pope is always safe” and “show us your Pope.” While both are healthy sentiments, the whole question facing us is this: is it POSSIBLE that God would allow an antipope to usurp the Pope’s see in Rome — and hold himself out to the whole world as the true Pope, when in fact he is the antipope? Many people seem to think that this is impossible, and that God would not allow this to happen, and furthermore that such would mean that “the Gates of Hell” had prevailed against the Church, and Christ had failed in His promise.

However, below it is clear that the scholars of the Church who have addressed this, as well as approved saints and holy persons – in many countries and in many centuries – have said the exact opposite – they indicate that exactly this scenario will confront the faithful during some period near the end of time. I submit that this period – referred to possibly in Scripture (St. Matthew) by Christ Himself as “the end is not yet” – may well have begun in 1958, when a true Pope was elected and shoved aside, and kept in a kind of captivity the nature of which has yet to be revealed. This then would explain all the unheard of changes in the structures of the Church, including the ones that obviously could not have come from Catholic authority, i.e., taking the paten away from those receiving communion, and moving the tabernacle away from the center of the parish church, or out of the church altogether. (I am leaving aside here the smoking guns of the changes in the New Mass consecration in the English version, and some documents of Vatican II.)
A Different Take on the End of the World

Note: Yves Dupont in Catholic Prophecy (TAN books) – has a chapter entitled: “The End of the World” – in it Dupont explains that he feels it is certain, based on Scripture, that there will be two stages to the end. The first is the end of the Fifth Period of the Church, as held by some saints, which would be the chastisement which ends the Fifth period, from around 1520 with the advent of Protestantism, until the Three days of darkness, or whatever is the chastisement that ends this age, characterized by an unprecedented disintegration of Church and state. This is the period that Dupont says is referred to by Christ Himself as “the beginning of sorrows” in Matthew 24:6 when Christ says: “But the end is not yet . . .” – This chastisement (ending the 5th period of the Church) is then followed by the Period of Peace, or the Peace of Fatima (which constitutes the 6th Period of the Church), in which the “Gospel is preached throughout the entire world”, resulting in a near universal conversion to Catholicism. After the period of peace (the 6th Period of the Church), which ends after a few generations, or, according to Fr. Sylvester Berry writing circa 1921, ends after as much as 500 years (to undo the 500 years of damage caused by the Protestant Revolt), then comes the 7th period: the coming of Antichrist and the End of the World.”

If this interpretation put forth by Dupont is correct, then our period would have all the signs of the end of world, but less severe. Thus, some of the below scholarly analyses may refer unintentionally to both this period we are in — AND to the end of the world, — or some scholars may not have believed that there are two phases to the end of the world, and thus such scholars refer to the more severe problems at the end of the world, which we see in a less severe form, but still devastating form, in this period (1520 to 20??).

I tend to believe that the Dupont analysis is correct (two phases to the end of the world). In the original TAN publication of “Catholic Prophecy” – the chapter on “The End of the World” goes from page 89 to page 91.

Below I list a number of scholars and prophecies that indicate that at some point a false Pope operating from Rome would come on the world stage, fooling almost the entire world; — especially notice the last item from Bishop Sheen in 1948; — although everything I listed below is, I would say, important to consider. This idea did not — I repeat not — originate with Gary Giuffre or myself. Gary just diligently compiled a list of many of these, as did Yves Dupont in the 1971 book Catholic prophecy, — and both were motivated to do so once the contradictions and signs were clearly before our eyes in every parish in the world, and in the Vatican II documents, to say nothing of all the abominations that have fallen on the faithful like an avalanche since 1958 . . . as I say, I put this out now in case I never get around to it again:

1. Douay Rheims Fathers – circa 1582

The eventual suppression of the Holy Sacrifice was implied by St. Matthew, according to the Church’s eminent scripture scholars, Doctors William Allen, Thomas Worthington, and Richard Bristow. In their comprehensive annotations on Matthew 24:15, regarding the verse, “when you shall see the abomination of desolation . . . standing in the holy place . . .”, the Oxford Fathers at Douay give the following interpretation:

“ . . . the abomination of desolation foretold, was partly fulfilled in diverse profanations of the Temple of Jerusalem, when the sacrifice and service of God was taken away. But specially it shall be fulfilled by Antichrist and his Precursors, when they shall abolish the holy Mass, which is the Sacrifice Of Christ’s Body and Blood, and the only sovereign worship due to God in His Church . . . By which it is plain that the heretics of those days will be special fore-runners of Antichrist.”

In their commentary on II Thessalonians 2:3-4, Fathers Allen, Worthington, and Bristow interpreted the passage, “the son of perdition . . . sitteth in the temple of God,” to mean that:

“Antichrist . . . shall rule over the whole world, and specifically prohibit that principal worship instituted by Christ in His Sacraments . . . by taking away the sacrifice of the altar . . .”

“ . . . This leads on plainly to the marks, which the prophet [Malachias] gives of the persecution of the last days. Now, there are three things which he has recorded. In the foresight of prophecy he saw and noted these three signs. The first, that the continual sacrifice shall be taken away; the next, that the sanctuary shall be occupied by the abomination which maketh [it] desolate; the third, that ‘the strength’ and ‘the altars,’ as he described it, shall be cast down: and these are the only three I will notice.”

2. Henry Edward Cardinal Manning – circa 1870

(Manning was a scholar not a prophet, but of great repute, and what he describes for the very end of the world is to be foreshadowed, if Dupont’s interpretation is correct, in the “Beginning of the end” in which we appear to be living, but he establishes that Catholics cannot just follow anyone in Rome claiming to be the Pope. And when would Catholics not follow such a man? When he issues rulings contradicting what the Church had ALREADY defined:

“The Holy Fathers who have written upon the subject of Antichrist, and of these prophecies of Daniel, without a single exception, as far as I know,—and they are the Fathers both of the East and of the West, the Greek and the Latin Church—all of them unanimously,—say that in the latter end of the world, during the reign of Antichrist, the holy sacrifice of the altar will cease. [Malvenda, Liber VIII, chapter 4.] In the work on the end of the world, ascribed to St. Hippolytus, after a long description of the afflictions of the last days, we read as follows: ‘The Churches shall lament with a great lamentation, for there shall be offered no more oblation nor incense, nor worship acceptable to God. The sacred buildings of the churches shall be as hovels; and the precious body and blood of Christ shall not be manifest in those days; the Liturgy shall be extinct; the chanting of psalms shall cease; the reading of Holy Scripture shall be heard no more. But there shall be upon men darkness, and mourning upon mourning, and woe upon woe.’ [Hippolytus, Liber de Consum. Mundi, § 34.] Then, the Church shall be scattered, driven into the wilderness, and shall be for a time, as it was in the beginning, invisible, hidden in catacombs, in dens, in mountains, in lurking-places; for a time it shall be swept, as it were, from the face of the earth. Such is the universal testimony of the Fathers of the early centuries . . .

“The writers of the Church tell us that in the latter days the city of Rome will probably become apostate from the Church and Vicar of Jesus Christ; and that Rome will again be punished, for he will depart from it; and the judgment of God will fall on the place from which he once reigned over the nations of the world. For what is it that makes Rome sacred, but the presence of the Vicar of Jesus Christ? What has it that should be dear in the sight of God, save only the presence of the Vicar of His Son? Let the Church of Christ depart from Rome, and Rome will be no more in the eyes of God than Jerusalem of old. Jerusalem, the Holy City, chosen by God, was cast down and consumed by fire, because it crucified the Lord of Glory; and the city of Rome, which has been the seat of the Vicar of Jesus Christ for eighteen hundred years, if it become apostate, like Jerusalem of old, will suffer a like condemnation. And, therefore, the writers of the Church tell us that the city of Rome has no prerogative except only that the Vicar of Christ is there; and if it become unfaithful, the same judgments which fell on Jerusalem, hallowed though it was by the presence of the Son of God, of the Master, and not the disciple only, shall fall likewise upon Rome.”

Cardinal Manning continues . . .

“The apostasy of the city of Rome from the Vicar of Christ, and its destruction by Antichrist may be thoughts so new to many Catholics, that I think it well to recite the text of theologians, of greatest repute. First, Malvenda, who writes expressly on the subject, states as the opinion of Ribera, Gaspar Melus, Viegas, Suarez, Bellarmine, and Bosius, that Rome shall apostatize from the faith, drive away the Vicar of Christ, and return to its ancient paganism. . . . It (i.e. Rome) shall cast out the Christian Pontiff, and the faithful who adhere to him . . .”

3.  Father Sylvester Berry

Fr. Sylvester Berry’s writings, published in 1921 — 37 years before the pivotal 1958 Conclave, — is a scenario amazingly close to what has actually happened to the Church and the papacy in our time:

“In the forgoing chapter [12] St. John outlines the history of the Church from the coming of Antichrist until the end of the world . . . In this chapter he shows us the true nature of the conflict. It shall be a war unto death between the Church and the powers of darkness in a final effort to destroy the Church and thus prevent the universal reign of Christ on earth.

“Satan will first attempt to destroy the power of the Papacy and bring about the downfall of the Church through heresies, schisms and persecutions that must surely follow . . . to lead the faithful into error and destroy those who remain steadfast …

“ . . . The Church, the faithful spouse of Jesus Christ, is represented as a woman clothed in the glory of divine grace . . .

“ . . . In this passage there is an evident allusion to some particular son — (my note: is this Cardinal Siri in 1958?) — of the Church whose power and influence shall be such that Satan will seek his destruction at any cost. This person can be none other than the Pope to be elected in those days. The Papacy will be attacked by all the powers of hell. In consequence the Church will suffer great trials and afflictions in securing a successor upon the throne of Peter.

“The words of St. Paul to the Thessalonians may be a reference to the Papacy as the obstacle to the coming of Antichrist: ‘You know what withholdeth, that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of iniquity already worketh; only that he who now holdeth, do hold until he be taken out of the way. And then that wicked one shall be revealed.’

“. . . Satan’s attacks against the Church will be organized and carried out by the governments and ruling powers of those days. (My note: carried out by Masons running USA and USSR in 1958 against the 53 cardinals of the Church in and after the conclave?)

“With the beast of Antichrist only the horns have diadems as symbols of royalty or governing power. The heads are branded with names of blasphemy. (Apocalypse, 13:1) Hence they symbolize the sins and errors that will afflict the Church . . . in this final struggle to prevent the universal reign of Christ all forms of sin and error will be marshaled against the Church . . . all errors which have afflicted the Church may be summed up in these seven: Judaism, paganism, Arianism, Mohammedanism, Protestantism, rationalism, and atheism.

“The dragon is seen in heaven which is here a symbol of the Church, the kingdom of heaven on earth. This indicates that the first troubles of those days will be inaugurated within the Church by apostate bishops, priests, and peoples, —the stars dragged down by the tail of the dragon.

“ . . . The dragon stands before the woman, ready to devour the child that is brought forth. In other words, the powers of hell seek by all means to destroy the Pope elected in those days.

“. . . It is now the hour for the powers of darkness. The new-born Son of the Church is taken ‘to God and to his throne.’ Scarcely has the newly elected Pope been enthroned when he is snatched away by martyrdom. (My note: Siri in 1958 — a long dry martyrdom, ending in actual martyrdom?) The ‘mystery of iniquity’ gradually developing through the centuries, cannot be fully consummated while the power of the Papacy endures, but now he that ‘withholdeth is taken out of the way.’ During the interregnum ‘that wicked one shall be revealed’ in his fury against the Church.” [Gary Giuffre’s note: In his interpretation of Apocalypse, Fr. Berry suggests that it will the martyrdom of the Pope, immediately after his election, that will precipitate an extended interregnum, causing manifold tribulations to be visited upon the faithful. However, the suppression of a true Pope, and the intense agony suffered by the rightful Pontiff, who watches helplessly as the Church is ravaged by demonic powers usurping his see for a generation, could certainly be compared to a type of prolonged martyrdom.]

“It is a matter of history that the most disastrous periods for the Church were times when the Papal throne was vacant, or when anti-popes contended with the legitimate head of the Church. Thus also shall it be in those evil days to come.

“The Church deprived of her chief pastor must seek sanctuary in solitude there to be guided by God Himself during those trying days . . . In those days the Church shall . . . find refuge and consolation in faithful souls, especially in the seclusion of the religious life.

“ . . . Our Divine Savior has a representative on earth in the person of the Pope upon whom He has conferred full powers to teach and govern. Likewise, Antichrist will have his representative in the false prophet who will be endowed with the plenitude of satanic powers to deceive the nations.

“ . . . As indicated by the resemblance to a lamb (my note: esp John Paul II?), the prophet will probably set himself up in Rome as a sort of antipope during the vacancy of the papal throne . . .

“ . . . The ‘abomination of desolation’ has been wrought in many Catholic churches by heretics and apostates who have broken altars, scattered relics of martyrs and desecrated the Blessed Sacrament. At the time of the French Revolution a lewd woman was seated upon the altar of the cathedral in Paris and worshipped as the goddess of reason. Such things but faintly foreshadow the abominations that will desecrate churches in those sorrowful days . . .

“. . .Antichrist and his prophet will introduce ceremonies to imitate the Sacraments of the Church. In fact there will be a complete organization – a church of Satan set up in opposition to the Church of Christ. . . . (My note: set up by the antipopes starting in 1958, and now occupying every diocese in the world and the Vatican itself.) . . . Their ceremonies will counterfeit the Sacraments . . .”

4. Fr. Herman Kramer writing in the “Book of Destiny” in 1956:

“The ‘sign’ in heaven is that of a woman with child crying out in her travail and anguish of delivery. . . In that travail, she gives birth to some definite ‘person’ who is to RULE the Church with a rod of iron (verse 5). It then points to a conflict waged within the Church to elect one who was to ‘rule all nations’ in the manner clearly stated. In accord with the text this is unmistakably a PAPAL ELECTION, for only Christ and his Vicar have the divine right to rule ALL NATIONS. . . But at this time the great powers may take a menacing attitude to hinder the election of the logical and expected candidate by threats of a general apostasy, assassination or imprisonment of this candidate if elected. This would suppose an extremely hostile mind in the governments of Europe (my note: after WW II, all European governments, plus USSR, USA, and China were controlled by Judeo-Masonry) towards the Church, because an extended interregnum in the papacy is always disastrous and more so in a time of universal persecution. If Satan would contrive to hinder a papal election, the Church would suffer great travail.” Fr. Kramer continues later:

“. . . Some eminent cardinal may be particularly outstanding in his efforts to stem the tide of demoralization of bishops and priests. Satan will know, and the world-powers will know, that he is the likely choice for the papacy, and that if elected, he will . . . exercise his supreme jurisdiction to inaugurate measures of reform. Satan knows that his own hopes of a rich harvest of souls will then be dashed to the ground. Hence he must avert the election or have the Pope assassinated when elected . . . Satan’s intention is to subject the newly elected Pope also to the purposes of the world-powers or to plot his death. He may contrive an assurance of safety and immunity from harm for the Cardinals to convene for the election the more easily to take the Pope-elect prisoner.” (my comment: Is a variation of this scenario what actually happened in 1958?)

5. Approved by Popes Pius IX and Leo XIII, yet virtually concealed for 70 years, the Secret of LaSalette read in part:

“ . . . The Vicar of my Son will have much to suffer, as, for a time the Church will be the victim of great persecutions: this will be the hour of darkness. The Church will suffer a terrible crisis . . .

“The Holy Father will suffer greatly. I will be by his side to the end in order to receive his sacrifice. The wicked will make several attempts on his life but they cannot harm him. But neither he nor his successor [here, Melanie inserted in parentheses the words, ‘who will not reign long’] will live to see the triumph of the Church of God . . .

“Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of the Antichrist . . .

“The Church will be in eclipse, the world will be in dismay.” (See Appendix: Complete Text of The Secret Of La Salette.)

For, in commenting on this part of the secret, Melanie, the seer of LaSalette, said to the French Abbot Paul Combe:

“The Church will be eclipsed. At first, we will not know which is the true pope. Then secondly, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will cease to be offered in churches and (religious) houses; it will be such that, for a time, there will not be public services any more. But I see that the Holy Sacrifice has not really ceased: it will be offered in barns, in alcoves, in caves, and underground.” (My comment: this explains what some have written about the “continual sacrifice”: thus Daniel in the Old Testament talks about the forces of antichrist ‘taking away the continual sacrifice”, i.e., perhaps continual meaning when the Mass was celebrated at all times, night and day, at every minute, somewhere in the world, before 1969, but after 1969, the true Mass did not cease completely, but was not offered “continually” anymore.)

6. Pope Leo XIII wrote these words as a part of the original Prayer to St. Michael, the shortened version of which was said in Catholic Churches after low Mass until 1962, until it was abruptly ended without explanation by John XXIII:

“These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety, with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck, the sheep may be scattered.”

[My comment: Pope Leo XIII, after his vision in 1884, was obviously very worried about an attempt by the chief enemies of the Church to usurp the See of Peter and scatter the sheep. This was 1884. Pope Pius IX had instructions read at the beginning of the Conclave which elected Pope Leo XIII in 1878. These instructions created provisions for six Cardinals to go underground an run the Church in exile if the architects of Freemasonry succeeded in usurping the Vatican. In 1903, the forces of darkness came within a hair of putting Cardinal Rampolla on the Papal Chair. This plan might have succeeded had not the Emperor of Austria, Franz Joseph, exercised “the Veto” reserved to Catholic Kings and Emporers, once Rampolla started to rise in the vote. The Cardinal of Austria rose to invoke the veto in that Conclave. The cardinals were not bound by such a veto, but it had usually carried the day. Pope Pius X was eventually elected. The Freemasons thought that Pope Pius IX (1846-1878) would be a liberal; but when he took the Papal oath, he became the worst nightmare of the Freemasons. The Freemasons thought that Benedict XV (1914-1922) would be a liberal, as well as Pius XI (1922-1939), and Pius XII (1939-1958). All protected the doctrines, sacraments, and liturgical traditions of the Church. By 1958, had the top rulers of Judeo-masonry despaired of a true Pope ever serving their Satanic agenda? Had these “Illuminati” decided that they must wait for the next election a true Pope, and then shove him aside by threats (including nuclear threats) and trickery (accomplished through the Cardinals in the conclave who were already secret Jews and Secret Masons), so that the true Pope could be replaced by an “uncanonically” elected anti-Pope? In this way, would the top Agents of Hell on earth not be assured that the “uncanonically” elected anti-Pope would NOT have the assistance of the Holy Ghost? Indeed, unlike Pope Pius IX, Benedict XV, Pius XI, Pius XII, — haven’t the “Vatican II Popes” from John XXIII acted as if they do not have the assistance of the Holy Ghost? Do the “Vatican II Popes’ not act more like those mouthing some traditional words – while overseeing a demolition operation against Holy Mother Church? – I am paraphrasing here what was formulated by Gary Giuffre over the years, from whom I learned the concepts in this interspersed comment. I personally believe these concepts are the most profound discoveries of the post 1958 era regarding the crisis in the Church. ]

7. Part of this prophecy of St. Francis of Assisi is rendered thusly by Fr. Culleton:

“There will be an uncanonically elected pope who will cause a great Schism, there will be diverse thoughts preached which will cause many, even those in the different orders to doubt, yea, even agree with those heretics which will cause my Order to divide, then will there be such universal dissension and persecutions that if those days were not shortened even the elect would be lost.” Rev. Gerald Culleton, The Reign of Antichrist, 1951, Academy Duplicating Service, Fresno, California, page 130. The original source for this quote is “Works of the Seraphic Father St. Francis Of Assisi”, Washbourne, 1882, pp. 248-250.

Another and more complete translation of this prophecy of St. Francis of Assisi:

Shortly before he died, St. Francis of Assisi called together his followers and warned them of the coming troubles, saying:

“1. The time is fast approaching in which there will be great trials and afflictions; perplexities and dissensions, both spiritual and temporal, will abound; the charity of many will grow cold, and the malice of the wicked will increase.

“2. The devils will have unusual power, the immaculate purity of our Order, and of others, will be so much obscured that there will be very few Christians who will obey the true Sovereign Pontiff and the Roman Church with loyal hearts and perfect charity. At the time of this tribulation a man, not canonically elected, will be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavour to draw many into error and death. (MY NOTE: notice that last sentence again – did this happen in 1958?)

“3. Then scandals will be multiplied, our Order will be divided, and many others will be entirely destroyed, because they will consent to error instead of opposing it.

“4. There will be such diversity of opinions and schisms among the people, the religious and the clergy, that, except those days were shortened, according to the words of the Gospel, even the elect would be led into error, were they not specially guided, amid such great confusion, by the immense mercy of God.

“5. Then our Rule and manner of life will be violently opposed by some, and terrible trials will come upon us. Those who are found faithful will receive the crown of life; but woe to those who, trusting solely in their Order, shall fall into tepidity, for they will not be able to support the temptations permitted for the proving of the elect.

“6. Those who preserve their fervour and adhere to virtue with love and zeal for the truth, will suffer injuries and, persecutions as rebels and schismatics; (MY NOTE: look at that last sentence again.) for their persecutors, urged on by the evil spirits, will say they are rendering a great service to God by destroying such pestilent men from the face of the earth. but the Lord will be the refuge of the afflicted, and will save all who trust in Him. And in order to be like their Head, [Christ] these, the elect, will act with confidence, and by their death will purchase for themselves eternal life; choosing to obey God rather than man, they will fear nothing, and they will prefer to perish rather than consent to falsehood and perfidy.

“7. Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer.” (MY NOTE: look at that last sentence again, please, i.e., . . . “not a true Pastor” . . Obviously, the destroyer would be an anti-Pope. And would the true Pope be in a hidden exile while this destroyer did his destroying?)

(Except for breaking up the narrative into numbered paragraphs, the prophecy is presented without any alteration, as given in the Works of the Seraphic Father St. Francis Of Assisi, Washbourne, 1882, p. 248)

Gerald Culleton, The Reign of Antichrist, 1951, Academy Duplicating Service, Fresno, California, page 130.)

( MY NOTE: The original prophecy of St. Francis of Assisi from the 1882 book is translated with more precision, as it says “a man, not canonically elected, will be raised to the Pontificate” and this seems more precisely to refer to a man who is a usurper. John XXIII took the name of an antipope in the 13th century, i.e., an antipope named “John XXIII” – this was unheard of, and a number of commentators said that this was a recognition for both the cardinals in the 1958 conclave and for the world powers behind the threatening of the conclave – that John XXIII was irregularly elected in 1958; this concept regarding John XXIII was most recently published in “Inside the Vatican” in 2004.)

8. Jacinta of Fatima: (the vision of Jacinta and the ensuing conversation between Jacinta and young Lucy about the “secret” – was recorded in 1947 by William Thomas Walsh) in this book “Our Lady of Fatima”)

Jacinta’s Vision of a Future Pope:

Comment from Gary Giuffre: Few books or articles on Fatima have mentioned the vision of a future pope, which was seen by the Portuguese shepherds and described by little Jacinta Marto, the youngest of the three Fatima seers. Reproduced below is a rare account of Jacinta’s description of the Pope she saw, as recorded by Wm Thomas Walsh, page 92 or 93 in “Our Lady of Fatima, written in 1947:

“I see the Holy Father in a very large house, on his knees before a table, with his hands over his face, crying. In front of his house, there are many people, and some are throwing stones at him, others are cursing him and saying very foul words to him. Poor little Holy Father! We must pray a lot for Him!”

“‘Can I say I saw the Holy Father and all those people?’ she (Jacinta) asked.

“‘No,’ answered Lucia. ‘Don’t you see that makes part of the secret? And then it will be discovered?’”

(Comment from Gary Giuffre: From this narrative, it is evident that unusual circumstances involving the Pope make up the essence of the Third Fatima Secret. It is also obvious that the Pope in Jacinta’s vision is not securely quartered in the Vatican but is in a dangerous exile . . . ” )

9. All the below in this section are taken from Catholic Prophecy compiled by Yves Dupont and published by TAN books:

— paragraph 33 in Catholic Prophecy, compiled by Yves Dupont, 1971: St. Nicholas of Fluh, circa 1520: “The Church will be punished because the majority of her members, high and low, will become so perverted. The Church will sink deeper and deeper until she will at last seem to be extinguished, and the succession of Peter and the other Apostles to have expired. But, after this, she [the Church] will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters.

(my comment: it looks like we are almost here, as there are only about 30 bishops, in 2008, appointed by Pope Pius XII left in the world. The ceremony introduced to consecrate bishops in 1969 by Paul VI has nothing to do with the traditional rite of consecration of Bishops used by the Church. In fact, the only word the two ceremonies have in common is “and”. In 1947, upon request of many bishops, Pope Pius XII defined the essential words for consecrating a bishop. These words included “receive the fullness of the priesthood”, thus denoting the necessary concept denoting “grace of the sacrament.” In 1969 – 22 years later !!! — Paul VI REMOVED the essential words defined by Pope Pius XII in 1947. Therefore, I cannot find an argument to refute the idea that all consecration of bishops done with the New Rite of Paul VI after 1968 — are invalid. That would mean that the priests consecrated by these bishops are also invalidly ordained. This would require the conclusion that only the remaining Pius XII bishops have BOTH validity and jurisdiction. — In spite of such dire circumstances, we can take comfort in the last sentence of the prophecy of St. Nicholas of Fluh: “But, after this, she [the Church] will be victoriously exalted in the sight of all doubters.”)

46.2. Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser (17th Cent.) “The fifth period is one of affliction, desolation, humiliation, and poverty for the Church. Jesus Christ will purify His people through cruel wars, famines, plague epidemics, and other horrible calamities. He will also afflict and weaken the Latin Church with many heresies. It is a period of defection, calamities and extermination…

46.6 “During this unhappy period, there will be laxity in divine and human precepts. Discipline will suffer. The Holy Canons will be completely disregarded, and the Clergy will not respect the laws of the Church. Everyone will be carried away and led to believe and to do what he fancies, according to the manner of the flesh.

46.7 “They will ridicule Christian simplicity; they will call it folly and nonsense, but they will have the highest regard for advanced knowledge, and for the skill by which the axioms of the law, the precepts of morality, the Holy Canons and religious dogmas are clouded by senseless questions and elaborate arguments. As a result, no principle at all, however holy, authentic, ancient, and certain it may be, will remain free of censure, criticism, false interpretation, modification, and delimitation by man.

52.2 (Jeanne le Royer, Sister of the Nativity) “I saw a great power rise up against the Church. It plundered, devastated, and threw into confusion and disorder the vine of the Lord, having it trampled underfoot by the people and holding it up to ridicule by all nations. Having vilified celibacy and oppressed the priesthood, it had the effrontery to confiscate the Church’s property, and to arrogate to itself the powers of the Holy Father, whose person and whose laws it held in contempt.” (my comment: notice: arrogate to itself the powers of the Holy Father . . . and “confiscate the Church’s property” — what property? – by 2005, I would say: all the property.)

53.1 (Ven. Anna-Katrina Emmerick) “I saw also the relationship between the two popes. . . I saw how baleful would be the consequences of this false church. I saw it increase in size; heretics of every kind came into the city (of Rome). The local clergy grew lukewarm, and I saw a great darkness…

53.2 “Once more I saw that the Church of Peter was undermined by a plan evolved by the secret sect, while storms were damaging it. . . “
Comment (from Dupont): Many prophecies predict an anti-pope and a schism.

53.3 “I saw a strange church being built against every rule. . . No angels were supervising the building operations. In that church, nothing came from high above. . . There was only division and chaos. It is probably a church of human creation, following the latest fashion, as well as the new heterodox church of Rome, which seems of the same kind… (Gary Giuffre’s comment:: this could refer to the Vatican II Church in Rome, or a lot of the “traditionalist Movement” with regard to the other church she saw in which there was only division and chaos)

53.24 “In thence days, Faith will fall very low, and it will be preserved in some places only, in a few cottages and in a few families which God has protected from disasters and wars.”

53.25 “I see many excommunicated ecclesiastics who do not seem to be concerned about it, nor even aware of it. Yet, they are (ipso factor) excommunicated whenever they cooperated to [sic] enterprises, enter into associations, and embrace opinions on which an anathema has been cast. It can be seen thereby that God ratifies the decrees, orders, and interdictions issued by the Head of the Church, and that He keeps them in force even though men show no concern for them, reject them, or laugh them to scorn.”

55. The Prophecy of Premol (5th century). “…And I see the King of Rome with his Cross and his tiara, shaking the dust off his shoes, . . . Thy Church, O Lord, is torn apart by her own children. One camp is faithful to the fleeing Pontiff, the other is subject to the new government of Rome which has broken the Tiara. But Almighty God will, in His mercy, put an end to this confusion and a new age will begin. Then, said the Spirit, this is the beginning of the End of Time.” (Note: this a reference to the beginning of the End, referred to by Jesus in the Gospel of St. Matthew, 24, as opposed to the very end, when THE Antichrist arises. Dupont thought we are living in the beginning of the end, i.e., from Vatican II until the Great Chastisement and the beginning of the Peace of Fatima.)

Comment: (by Yves Dupont): From this prophecy, it is clear that the true Church will be faithful to the Pope in exile; whereas, the new Pope in Rome will be, in fact, an anti-pope. But, since a number of other prophecies tell us that the true Pope will die in his exile, it follows then that the true Church will be leaderless for some time. Then, it is not difficult to anticipate what the anti-pope and renegade hierarchy and clergy will say: “See, your so-called Pope is dead; and who can give you a new Pope now? Our cardinals have already elected the new Pope, he is here in Rome.” And, indeed, since the true Church will be completely disorganized, and the faithful Cardinals isolated, no new true Pope could be elected, and thus a large number of Catholics will be misled into accepting the leadership of the anti-pope. Such a schism could not happen if the Pope followed A. C. Emmerick’s advice “to stay in Rome”. “But”, she said, “the Pope is still attached to the things of the earth.” And, as is said elsewhere, “He will want to save what he thinks can be saved.” In other words, the true Pope, whoever he is at that time, will use his human judgment and leave Rome, instead of remaining firm in the face of the invaders.)

(My comment: This comment by Dupont on the Prophecy of Premol is exactly what is often said to those of us who say that the Vatican II “Popes” cannot possibly be Popes because of their contradictions of past Papal rulings. This commentary was written in 1971, and Dupont believed Paul VI was a true Pope and would be the pope forced into exile; so he is just a man commenting, but it is interesting nonetheless, and shows that an expert in prophecy foresaw such circumstances as indicated by the body of prophecies he studied.)

86. Bl. Rembordt (18th century). “These things will come when they try to set up a new kingdom of Christ from which the true faith will be banished.” (This would appear to be a nonsensical comment — except we see it before our eyes — the “counterfeit church” as Sr. Anna Katherine Emmerick called it. Paul VI and John Paul II, and now Benedict XVI, allow every many of heretic and modernist to run wild, while only the priests who have stayed with the Church’s 2000 tradition, and who refuse to accept the new religion of Vatican II and the New Mass – are anathematized, disciplined and ostracized.)

87. Oba Prophecy. “It will come when the Church authorities issue directives to promote a new cult, when priests are forbidden to celebrate in any other, when the higher positions in the Church are given to perjurers and hypocrites, when only the renegades are admitted to occupy those positions.”

More from Venerable Anna Katrina Emmerich, which is a large section in Catholic Prophecy by Dupont:

— “They want to take from the shepherd his own pasture grounds! They want to fill his place with one who will hand all over to the enemy!”

— I saw the Holy Father surrounded by traitors and in great distress about the Church. He had visions and apparitions in his hour of greatest need. I saw many good pious Bishops; but they were weak and wavering, their cowardice often got the upper hand… Then I saw darkness spreading around and people no longer seeking the true Church.” (My comment: 1958 to 1969?)

— “We must pray that the Pope may not leave Rome, for unheard-of-evils would result from such a step. We must pray to the Holy Ghost to enlighten him, for they are even now trying to exact something of him. The Protestant doctrine, as also that of the Greeks, is spreading everywhere… If the Pope leaves Rome, the enemies of the Church will get the upper hand… Religion is there so skillfully undermined and stifled that there are scarcely one hundred faithful priests… All must be rebuilt soon for everyone, even ecclesiastics are laboring to destroy – ruin is at hand…” (1958?)

— “I see the Holy Father in great distress. He lives in another palace and receives only a few to his presence. If the wicked party know their own great strength, they would even now have made an attack. I fear the Holy Father will suffer many tribulations before his death, for I see the black counterfeit church gaining ground, I see its fatal influence on the public. The distress of the Holy Father and of the Church is really so great that one ought to pray to God day and night. I have been told to pray much for the Church and the Pope… The people must pray earnestly for the extirpation (Rooting out, destruction) of the dark church.” (My comment: Anna Katherine Emmerich repeatedly sees a counterfeit Church contending with the true Church in Rome.)

— “I saw the fatal consequences of this counterfeit church: I saw it increase; I saw heretics of all kinds flocking to the city (Rome). I saw the ever-increasing tepidity of the clergy, the circle of darkness ever widening. And now the vision became more extended. I saw in all places Catholics oppressed, annoyed, restricted, and deprived of liberty, churches were closed, and great misery prevailed everywhere with war and bloodshed.”

— “Ah! a pious, parish-priest has just died in Rome of old age! I received the general absolution with him! His soul went straight to purgatory, but he will very soon be released. We must pray for him. He was greatly attached to the Pope during whose captivity he did much good in secret. . . .

Blessed Anna-Katarina Emmerick in her vision of 27 September 1820 states:
“I saw deplorable things: they were gambling, drinking, and talking in church; they were also courting women. All sorts of abominations were perpetrated there. Priests allowed everything and said Mass with much irreverence. I saw that few of them were still godly, and only a few had sound views on things. I also saw Jews standing under the porch of the Church. All these things caused me much distress.” (Catholic Prophecy, p. 66) — (My comment: if Emmerick was right about “priests allowed everything and said Mass with much irreverence” — might she not be right about just about everything else she saw?”

10. Other prophecies:

Pope Saint Pius X declared: “Our enemies have on this been under no misapprehensions. From the outset, and with the greatest clearness of vision, they determined on their objective; first to separate you from Us and the Chair of Peter, and then to sow disorder among you.” (My comment: notice that in an Encyclical circa 1907, Pope Pius X warns that the objective of the Freemasons is to separate the faithful from the Pope, and then sow disorder. This could be taken to merely mean that the enemies of the Church seek to cause people to reject the Pope’s authority and fall away from the faith – but in light of the above prophecies, could it also be that Pope Pius X wrote those words with another meaning also in mind: the literal separation of the true Pope from the faithful by a cleverly constructed hidden exile.)

St. Anthony of the Desert (4th Century) [Disquisition CXIV] declares:
“Men will surrender to the spirit of the age. They will say that if they had lived in our day, Faith would be simple and easy. But in their day, they will say, things are complex; the Church must be brought up to date and made meaningful to the day’s problems. When the Church and the World are one, then those days are at hand. Because our Divine Master placed a barrier between His things and the things of the world.” (Quoted in Voice of Fatima, 23 January 1968) (My comment: constant “updating” was the battle cry of Vatican II and its aftermath — never before heard in the history of the Church as coming from the Vatican itself or from true Popes.)

Blessed Joachim (1202): “Towards the end of the world, Antichrist will overthrow the pope and usurp his see.”

Bl. Mary of Agreda, 17th century: “An unusual chastisement of the human race will take place towards the end of the world. . . . It was revealed to me that through the intercession of the Mother of God all heresies will disappear. The victory over heresies has been reserved by Christ for His Blessed Mother . . . Mary, more than ever, must shine in mercy, might, and grace in order to bring unbelievers into the Catholic Faith. The power of Mary in the latter days will be very conspicuous. Mary will extend the reign of Christ over the heathens and the Mohammedans, and it will be a time of great joy when Mary is enthroned as Mistress and Queen of Hearts.”

(My comment: Notice that Mary of Agreda says that an unusual chastisement will take place TOWARDS the end of the world – and that through the Mother of God all heresies will disappear. This indicates that Yves Dupont’s interpretation of where we are in the first years of the 21st century may be right: that we are in the “beginning of the end”, the winding down of the 5th period of the Church, which will end with the Great Chastisement, followed by the Peace of Fatima in which Our Lady of Fatima vanquishes all heresies, i.e., the sixth period of the Church. To repeat, the sixth period of the Church will last until the seventh period begins, the coming of anti-Christ and the end of the world.)

St. Louis-Marie Grignion De Montfort (18th century): “The power of Mary over all devils will be particularly outstanding in the last period of time. She will extend the Kingdom of Christ over the idolaters and Moslems, and there will come a glorious era when Mary is the Ruler and Queen of Hearts.”

Sister Marianne, a holy nun who lived in the convent of the Ursulines in Blois during the early 19th century:

“Such extraordinary events shall take place that the most incredulous will be forced to say: ‘Truly, the finger of God is here.’ There shall be a terrible night during which no one will be able to sleep. But these trials shall not last long because no one could endure them. When all shall appear lost, all will be saved.”

Nursing Nun of Bellay, given around 1820 at which time it was entrusted to Fr. Fulgence, the chaplain of the Trappist Monastery of Notre-Dame des Gardes, near Angers: “A saint raises his arms to Heaven; he allays the wrath of God. He ascends the throne of Peter. At the same time, the Great Monarch ascends the throne of his ancestors. All is quiet now. Altars are set up again; religion comes to life again. What I see now is so wonderful that I am unable to express it.”

And, an amazing passage from Bishop Fulton J. Sheen in 1948, but, like Fr. Kramer of the Book of Destiny, did not recognize it when it came:

“He [Satan] will set up a counterchurch which will be the ape of the Church, because he, the Devil, is the ape of God. It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of the Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. . . .But the twentieth century will join the counterchurch because it claims to be infallible when its visible head speaks ex cathedra” (Fulton J. Sheen, Communism and the Conscience of the West, Indianapolis: Bobbs-Merrill,1948, pp. 24-25).

One more:

The late Benedictine monk, Fr. Urban Snyder, gave the definitive answer in 1974 to any and all who might object to even the discussion of the possibility that a counterfeit church has already usurped the Vatican – or even the Chair of Peter itself:

“ The Church is the Mystical Christ and as such must relive through the ages the mysteries of the Saviour’s life, Good Friday not excepted. Calvary is the essence of the mystery of Redemption . . .

“. . . those writers do a great disservice to souls who assert that this or that thing cannot happen to the Church, or the Papacy, or the majority of the faithful. When Peter spoke like that, the Lord said to him: ‘Get thee behind Me, Satan.’ Mutatis mutandis, anything can happen to the Church, and in fact may be predicted to happen, if it happened in the life of Our Lord. For the Church is His Mystical Body and the disciple is not above the Master . . .

“It follows therefore that the Church can be betrayed and made a prisoner; can be buffeted, spat upon, be made to look a fool; she can be defamed, abandoned, condemned; she can be damaged structurally and disfigured, like the Lord’s physical members were; in a word, she can be crucified and [seemingly] put to death – but not for long!

“From three o’clock on Good Friday until three A.M. on Easter was only thirty-six hours. And as there was a faithful remnant left to Jesus even then, so will it be in the Good Friday of the Church; there will be a faithful few to wait in sorrow for the Church’s Resurrection, which will burst like lightning upon God’s enemies.” (From Kyrie Eleison Newsletter, 19 March 1974, quoted by Hutton Gibson in the first pages of his book published in the late 1970s, “Paul VI: Legacy Catholicism?” – which is where I discovered it.)

The End.
